Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that you carefully read and adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided below. Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be rejected.

Manuscripts may be submitted in Croatian, English, Polish, Hungarian, or German. Anafora does not charge article submission or processing fees.

The Editorial Board accepts only unpublished manuscripts. In submitting the manuscript for publication, the authors certify that they agree to the “Author’s Statement on the Copyright Regulations” noted in the Copyright and Related Rights Act (NN 167/03). Thereby the author guarantees that the article presented for publication is an original paper that does not infringe upon any copyright regulations and strictly follows the rules of scientific methodology. In submitting a text for publication, the author conveys to the publisher of the journal the copyright to control the first publication of his/her work and warrants that the material of the paper has neither been published previously nor is it under review for publication elsewhere.

Ethical Standards

In an effort to ensure the highest ethical standards and academic quality, the originality of content of all submissions considered for publication in Anafora is verified using Turnitin plagiarism screening service.

In case the Editorial Board has clear evidence of unethical research, or if the material presented in an article is unreliable, has previously been published elsewhere without proper acknowledgment, or constitutes plagiarism, it retains the right to reject a manuscript before submission for peer review or retract an article in accordance to the COPE Retraction Guidelines.

For details on procedures for dealing with unethical behaviour and ethical expectations for authors, please see the journal’s Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement.

Manuscript Acceptance Policy

The Journal follows strict double-blind reviewing of the submitted works. Each manuscript is primarily examined by the editor. Articles that fit the journal’s profile are subjected to a verification of the originality of content using Turnitin/Ephorus plagiarism screening service before being forwarded for blind review. The review process may take up from a week to one month. The processing and reviewing procedure generally lasts for 10 to 15 weeks. The review is conducted by a minimum of two independent academic peers in accordance with the standards of objectivity, anonymity, and confidentiality of information, as well as the guidelines of the Editorial Board and the Ordinance on Publishing Activities of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek and COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. The categorization of articles is done according to the current MSE Guidelines for Editing and Formatting Journals.

The authors shall be informed about the selection/rejection of the article/paper by e-mail only. However, the journal shall publish the article/papers of the authors completing the formalities in due time.
